The Carbon Cliff Volunteer Fire Department and the Barstow Fire Protection District are Proud to present the 1st annual
Shop with a firefighter
Eagle Ridge School 5th grade students had the opportunity to shop with a Firefighter for the first time.Thanks to Walmart in Moline, Village of Carbon Cliff, Old Country Buffet and the Barstow Firefighter's Association. Students were taken to Walmart where they shopped for their immediate family. The students were paired up with Barstow and Carbon Cliff Firefighter's who had the list of gifts that the kids were shopping for. After all the gifts have been purchased members of the fire departments and Walmart associates wrapped the gifts for the children, while the kids ate dinner with the firefighters at Old Country Buffet in Moline. After dinner the bus returned to Walmart and picked up the wrapped gifts and returned the students to the school. All of the firefighters and the children had a great time!! We would like to thank everyone who participated with the event and hope that it continues to be a success in the future.
